Hello hope you are doing well. This is a question concerning a relative. My relative has had joint pain and a fever for 2 and a half weeks now and have taken him to the hospital. They have treated him antibiotics but nothing has been working. They have done an x-ray to find I think the alveoli to be swollen because they state he has pneumonia
Pneumonia can be due to a viral infection or a bacterial infection, the treatment would vary slightly
A bacterial infection would require a course of antibiotics whereas viral illnesses do not respond to antibiotics. Paracetamol or another pain killer can be used to help with the joint pain.
With a history of joint pain and fever, he may need blood tests such as a complete blood count and ESR. Bloods may also need to be done to identify the specific cause eg flu, dengue etc
I hope this helps
